Heli-Preheat System – SCOTTS BELL – Model 47 and OH-47H Series with Lycoming O/VO/TVO-435. (CHT not wells required)
Preheat is applied through electrical resistance heat elements located on the engine crankcase oil sump and each cylinder assembly, main and tail rotor gearboxes. Power is routed to the elements through a dedicated wiring assembly with system power indication, plug mount, and circuit overload protection. System is self-regulating through design. Heated components reach an average state of thermal equilibrium in approximately six hours.
Options for Cabin heat and battery heat are possible.
Known Engines: Lycoming O-435, VO-435, TVO-435. See top level drawing for eligibility.
This preheat kit when installed will supply 823 watts with a 7.2 amp draw at 115 volts. This preheat kit when installed will supply 823 watts with a 3.6 amp draw at 230 volts.
