How Micro Vortex Generators Work
A Micro Vortex Generator creates a small, controlled vortex over the airfoil, energizing the normally stagnant boundary layer of air on the wing surface. This energized airflow resists separation, allowing the wing to remain effective at lower airspeeds and higher angles of attack. VGs are installed in a spanwise line approximately 10% aft of the wing’s leading edge, where they control airflow over the upper surface of the wing to improve performance and control authority.
