Canopy/Cockpit/Fuselage Covers:
Canopy and fuselage covers for the Glasair II & III provide full protection for the windshield, side windows, doors, and fuselage using custom-fit designs tailored to each aircraft’s antenna and probe placements. Made from reflective Silver Acrylic Sunbrella and fully lined with soft microfiber, these covers reduce interior heat, prevent damage to upholstery and avionics, keep windows clean, and eliminate issues from leaking seals. Options include the standard Canopy Cover, Extended Canopy Cover, Extended Canopy/Engine Cover, and Complete Fuselage Cover, all designed for secure attachment with belly straps, quick-release buckles, and an adjustable shock-cord hem. Durable, breathable, and resistant to water, UV, ice, and snow, these covers offer reliable all-weather protection and can be customized with color-matched trim and optional registration imprinting.
Engine/Prop Covers:
Engine and propeller covers for the Glasair II & III are designed to fully enclose and protect the engine cowl and prop assembly, cinching around or behind the spinner and securing with Velcro and belly straps for a tight fit. Standard covers are made from durable Solution-Dyed Polyester or Acrylic Sunbrella, while insulated versions use a quilted, water-repellent composite of solution-dyed polyester, 3M Thinsulate, and soft nylon to retain heat and support engine preheating in cold climates, helping reduce engine wear. For indoor protection, an economical insulated hangar blanket is available, offering effective heat retention when paired with a heater. Propeller covers are one-piece, form-fitting designs available for various blade types and materials, using Sunbrella or Solution-Dyed Polyester with a full microfiber lining to prevent scratching; insulated prop covers offer additional thermal protection. All materials are reflective, UV-resistant, water-, ice-, and snow-repellent, breathable, and designed specifically to safeguard the aircraft while maintaining stable temperatures.
Plugs and Protection:
Glasair II & III Pitot Tube Covers are made from durable Naugahyde vinyl and slip over the entire pitot assembly, securing at the base with a Velcro strap and featuring a “Remove Before Flight” streamer; heat-resistant versions are available to prevent melting if pitot heat is accidentally activated, with optional tethering upon request. Engine Inlet Plugs are custom-fit for Glasair II & III intakes, built from heavy-duty vinyl and a solid sculpted urethane foam core with a removable-foam zipper design for drying. Each plug includes cockpit-visible warning flags or remove-before-flight streamers, optional registration imprinting, and can be installed while the engine is still warm. These plugs—also known as cowl plugs, intake plugs, or engine bungs—provide reliable protection against debris and environmental damage.
Wing/Tail/Empennage Covers:
Horizontal Stabilizer Covers, Empennage Covers, and Wing Covers for the Glasair II & III provide full-surface protection against sun damage, frost, snow, ice, and corrosion, using either durable all-year Silver Acrylic Sunbrella or lightweight seasonal Solution-Dyed Polyester. Stabilizer Covers wrap around the leading and trailing edges and secure with adjustable straps, with optional hail-protection foam for added impact resistance. The one-piece Empennage Cover encloses both horizontal and vertical stabilizers along with the tailboom, using zippers and straps for a secure fit while accommodating antennas, beacons, and static wicks. Wing Covers form-fit around the tips, cover the entire upper surface, wrap the edges, and strap beneath the wing and belly, with options for hail protection and custom tailoring for STOL kits, droop tips, and vortex generators. All options offer reliable year-round or winter-specific protection with materials engineered for UV resistance, weather durability, and long service life.
Light Weight Travel Covers:
The Lightweight Travel Canopy Cover provides the same coverage as the standard canopy cover but uses very lightweight Silver Solution-Dyed Polyester, allowing it to fold compactly for easy storage. Designed for hangar-stored aircraft that only occasionally need outdoor protection, it is lined over the windshield to save weight and offers water resistance suitable for short-term use. An ultra-lightweight version is also available for fitted hangar dust covers, while the more durable Sunbrella Cover is recommended for daily outdoor exposure.
