Canopy/Cockpit/Fuselage Covers:
Canopy Covers for the Glasair Aviation Glasair I protect the aircraft’s windshield, side windows, and canopy roof while reducing interior heat, preventing damage to upholstery and avionics, and eliminating issues from leaking door and window seals. Custom-fit for each aircraft—including antenna and probe placements—the covers secure with adjustable belly straps, quick-release buckles, and a shock-cord hem for a tight, reliable fit. Made from Silver Acrylic Sunbrella and fully lined with soft microfiber, they offer exceptional UV, heat, water, ice, and snow resistance while remaining breathable and scratch-free. Each cover is custom-sewn with color-matched trim, includes a storage duffle, and can be imprinted with the aircraft’s registration number. The Complete Fuselage Cover extends this protection from the engine cowling to the tail, using the same reflective, durable, temperature-reducing material to keep the aircraft clean, protected, and near-ambient inside even on the hottest days.
Engine/Prop Covers:
Engine Covers for the Glasair Aviation Glasair I cinch around or behind the spinner, enclosing the entire engine cowl—including cooling and induction air inlets—and fasten with Velcro beneath the spinner, with an additional belly strap aft of the firewall. Made from durable Solution-Dyed Polyester or Acrylic Sunbrella, they can also be ordered in an insulated version featuring a quilted, water-repellent composite of solution-dyed polyester, 3M Thinsulate, and soft nylon, ideal for retaining heat and supporting engine preheating in cold climates. For indoor use, an Insulated Hangar Blanket offers an economical alternative, providing effective heat retention when paired with a heating device. These covers help reduce cold-weather engine wear and may include optional access flaps.
The Glasair I Propeller Cover is a one-piece, form-fitting design that slips over the spinner and blades and secures with a weather-resistant zipper. Available for wooden, composite, or metal props in various blade counts, these covers use Sunbrella or Solution-Dyed Polyester with a full microfiber lining to prevent scratches. Insulated propeller covers are also offered, made with thicker, quilted, breathable, water-repellent materials to support engine preheating. Like all Bruce’s Custom Covers materials, the Silver Acrylic Sunbrella exterior provides excellent UV, heat, water, ice, and snow resistance, while remaining reflective and breathable to protect the aircraft and maintain near-ambient temperatures even in harsh conditions.
Light Weight Travel Covers:
The Lightweight Travel Canopy Cover provides the same coverage as the standard Glasair I Canopy Cover but is made from very lightweight Silver Solution-Dyed Polyester that folds compactly for easy storage. Ideal for aircraft kept in a hangar and needing only occasional outdoor protection, this cover is lined over the windshield to save weight and offers water resistance suitable for short-term use. An ultra-lightweight version is also available for fitted hangar dust-cover applications. For frequent or daily outdoor exposure, the heavier, more durable Sunbrella Canopy Cover remains the recommended option.
