Canopy/Cockpit/Fuselage Covers:
Diamond DA-50 Superstar Canopy Covers protect your aircraft’s interior from heat, UV exposure, and weather damage while preventing issues from leaking seals, keeping windows clean, and deterring vandalism or theft. Each cover is custom-designed for the aircraft model, including antenna and temperature probe placements, and encloses the windshield, side windows, and canopy roof. Made from Silver Acrylic Sunbrella canvas and fully lined with soft microfiber, the covers are reflective, water-, ice-, and snow-repellent, breathable, and anti-static. Adjustable belly straps, quick-release buckles, and high-quality shock cord provide a secure, snug fit. Covers are custom-sewn with corner trim to match the aircraft colors, and registration numbers can be added for an additional charge. A duffle bag is included for storage.
Extended Canopy and Canopy/Engine Covers combine the protection of canopy and engine covers into a one-piece design that also extends to the wing root and overlapping surfaces. These covers maintain the same Silver Acrylic Sunbrella/microfiber construction, offering maximum scratch protection, weather resistance, and reflective properties to reduce cabin temperatures. The hem includes adjustable shock cord for a tight fit, and the covers are fully breathable to allow moisture to escape, keeping your aircraft safe from water, ice, and snow while preserving the interior and exterior surfaces.
Engine/Prop Covers:
Engine Covers protect the entire engine cowl, including air cooling and induction inlets, by cinching around or behind the spinner and fastening with Velcro beneath the spinner and an aft belly strap. Standard covers are made from durable Solution-Dyed Polyester or Silver Acrylic Sunbrella, while insulated versions feature a composite of solution-dyed polyester, 3M Thinsulate, and soft nylon lining to help retain heat and complement engine preheaters in cold climates. Insulated covers may include an optional access flap for maintenance and provide added protection against engine wear and tear. For interior hangar use, Insulated Hangar Blankets offer a cost-effective alternative to maintain engine warmth with a heating device, available in red or black.
Propeller Covers are custom, one-piece designs that slip over the blades and spinner and secure with a plastic all-weather zipper. They are available for wooden, composite, or metal props with multiple blade configurations. Standard prop covers use Sunbrella or Solution-Dyed Polyester with soft microfiber lining for scratch protection, while insulated versions employ thicker, quilted, water-repellent, and breathable materials to maintain near-ambient temperatures in cold climates. All covers feature reflective, UV-, water-, and snow-resistant fabrics, with breathable lining that allows moisture to escape while protecting the aircraft’s exterior and engine components.
Plugs and Protection:
Diamond DA-50 Superstar Engine Inlet Plugs are custom-fit for your aircraft’s intakes, constructed from heavy-duty vinyl and filled with a single block of sculpted urethane foam. The foam can be removed and dried through a built-in zipper, making maintenance simple and convenient. Each plug features a visible warning flag or “Remove Before Flight” streamer, and most can be imprinted with the aircraft registration number for an additional charge. Designed for use immediately after flight, even when the engine is still warm, these plugs help protect the intakes from debris and environmental damage.
Also known as cowl plugs, intake plugs, cowl blocks, engine blocks, or engine bungs, they provide essential protection for your engine when parked or stored. Storage bags are not included.
Wing/Tail/Empennage Covers:
Horizontal Stabilizer and Empennage Covers provide full protection against sun damage, frost, snow, ice buildup, and corrosion. Made from durable Solution-Dyed Polyester or Silver Acrylic Sunbrella, these covers fully enclose the upper surfaces of the stabilizers and tailboom, overlapping the leading and trailing edges. They attach securely with adjustable straps and zippers, and are designed to accommodate antennas, beacons, and static wicks. Available in all-year Sunbrella for maximum durability or lighter winter-use polyester, these covers ensure long-lasting protection in all weather conditions. Hail Protection versions with dense closed-cell foam are also available to guard against small to medium hail.
Diamond DA-50 Superstar Wing Covers protect the entire upper wing surfaces, wrapping around the leading and trailing edges and fitting snugly over the wingtips. Adjustable straps secure the covers underneath the wing and can connect under the belly for a seamless fit. Covers are compatible with wing modifications, including STOL kits, droop tips, and vortex generators, and are labeled LEFT and RIGHT for convenience. Like the stabilizer and empennage covers, they are available in all-year Sunbrella or seasonal Solution-Dyed Polyester, with optional Hail Protection, offering a reliable solution for preserving your aircraft’s finish and structural surfaces in all conditions.
Heat Shields and Sun Reflectors:
Cabin Heatshields are interior sunshades designed to protect the passenger cabin from excessive heat and sun exposure. Made from a unique composite of closed-cell foam with a reflective silver mylar finish, the semi-rigid shields stand securely within the window framing and help reduce cabin temperatures while protecting avionics and upholstery. The set folds flat for convenient storage in the included sleeve, and some designs may use Velcro or suction cups for attachment. While excellent for short-term protection against overheating, pairing them with an external fabric cover provides the most effective long-term solution for your aircraft.
Light Weight Travel Covers:
The Lightweight Travel Canopy and Canopy/Engine Covers provide the same coverage as our standard covers but are made from very lightweight Silver Solution-Dyed Polyester, making them easy to fold and store in a compact space. Designed for airplanes stored full-time in a hangar and needing protection only occasionally, these covers are lined over the windshield to save weight and offer water resistance for limited outdoor use. An ultra-lightweight version is also available for fitted hangar dust covers, while the more durable Sunbrella covers remain the best choice for daily outdoor exposure.
