Canopy/Cockpit/Fuselage Covers:
Diamond DA-42 Twin Star Canopy Covers protect the aircraft interior from heat, UV, and weather damage while preventing issues from leaking seals, keeping windows clean, and deterring vandalism. Custom-designed for each aircraft model, including antenna and temperature probe placements, these covers enclose the windshield, side windows, and canopy roof. Constructed from Silver Acrylic Sunbrella canvas and fully lined with soft microfiber, they are water-, ice-, and snow-repellent, breathable, anti-static, and highly reflective to reduce cabin temperatures. Covers attach with adjustable belly straps, quick-release buckles, and shock cord for a secure, tight fit. Optional designs can integrate snap-head attachments on the fuselage and engine cowl.
The Nose Cover protects the forward fuselage, while combined Canopy/Nose and Extended Canopy/Nose Covers provide one-piece protection for the windshield, canopy, nose, and in some designs, the area down to the wing root, overlapping with wing, engine, and empennage covers. All covers maintain the same high-quality Sunbrella/microfiber construction, offering maximum scratch protection, weather resistance, and cabin-temperature control, making them ideal for full cover sets or standalone protection of the DA-42 Twin Star.
Engine/Prop Covers:
Engine Covers protect the entire engine cowl, including air cooling and induction inlets, by cinching around or behind the spinner and fastening with Velcro beneath the spinner and an aft belly strap. Standard covers are made from durable Solution-Dyed Polyester or Acrylic Sunbrella, while insulated versions use a composite of solution-dyed polyester, 3M Thinsulate insulation, and soft nylon lining to retain heat, complement engine preheaters, and help prevent cold-weather engine wear. Insulated covers can include an optional access flap and are designed to maintain engine warmth after shutdown, reducing wear in harsh climates.
Propeller Covers are custom, one-piece designs that slip over the blades and spinner, securing with a plastic all-weather zipper along the bottom. They are available for wooden, composite, or metal props with multiple blade configurations. Standard covers use Sunbrella or Solution-Dyed Polyester with a soft microfiber lining for scratch protection, while insulated versions feature thicker, quilted, water-repellent, and breathable materials. All covers employ reflective, UV-, water-, and snow-resistant fabrics, providing protection while allowing moisture to escape and maintaining near-ambient temperatures inside the engine compartment.
Plugs and Protection:
Diamond DA-42 Twin Star Pitot Tube Covers are made from durable Naugahyde vinyl and slip over the entire pitot assembly, tightening at the base with a Velcro strap. Each cover includes a “Remove Before Flight” streamer for safety. Heat-resistant versions are available to prevent melting if pitot heat is accidentally activated, and tethered sets can be requested for convenience.
Engine Inlet Plugs are custom-fit for the DA-42 intakes, constructed from heavy-duty vinyl and filled with a sculpted urethane foam block that can be removed and dried via a built-in zipper. Each plug features a visible warning flag or “Remove Before Flight” streamer, and most can be imprinted with the aircraft registration number for an additional charge. Also called cowl plugs, intake plugs, cowl blocks, engine blocks, or engine bungs, they may be inserted shortly after flight while the engine is still warm. Storage bags are not included.
Wing/Tail/Empennage Covers:
Horizontal Stabilizer and Empennage Covers protect against sun damage, frost, snow, ice, and corrosion. They are made from durable Solution-Dyed Polyester or Silver Acrylic Sunbrella and cover the entire upper surfaces, overlapping the leading and trailing edges. Empennage Covers are one-piece designs covering both vertical and horizontal stabilizers and the tailboom, with adjustable straps, zippers, and accommodations for antennas, beacons, and static wicks. Hail Protection versions incorporate dense closed-cell foam for added impact resistance. All-year use covers use heavier Sunbrella material for maximum durability, while winter-use polyester covers are lighter and more compact for seasonal or occasional use.
Diamond DA-42 Wing Covers offer similar protection, forming a snug fit around wingtips, covering the upper surface, and wrapping around the leading and trailing edges. They secure underneath with adjustable straps and can connect under the belly for a seamless fit. Wing covers accommodate modifications such as STOL kits, droop tips, and vortex generators, and are labeled LEFT and RIGHT for convenience. Like stabilizer covers, all-year Sunbrella versions provide maximum durability and weather protection, while winter-use Solution-Dyed Polyester is lighter and intended for limited seasonal or occasional use. Hail Protection options are also available for additional safety.
Light Weight Travel Covers:
Engine Covers protect the entire engine cowl, including air cooling and induction inlets, by cinching around or behind the spinner and fastening with Velcro and an aft belly strap. Standard covers are made from durable Solution-Dyed Polyester or Acrylic Sunbrella, while insulated versions use a quilted, water-repellent composite to retain heat and complement engine preheaters, helping prevent cold-weather engine wear.
Lightweight Travel Covers provide the same protection and coverage as standard Canopy or Canopy/Nose Covers but are made from lightweight Silver Solution-Dyed Polyester. They fold compactly for easy storage, are lined only over the windshield to save weight, and are water-resistant for occasional outdoor use. Ultra-lightweight versions are also available for fitted hangar dust covers. For daily outdoor exposure, standard Sunbrella covers remain the best choice.
