Made from Silver Acrylic Sunbrella canvas with a soft microfiber lining, these reflective, breathable covers are water-, ice-, snow-, and UV-resistant, and prevent scratches. Features include sewn-in pockets for pitot tubes and temperature probes, reinforced stress points, rope-hemmed edges, color-coded corners for easy installation, and durable non-metal Delrin buckles. Tests show these covers reduce interior temperatures to near-ambient levels on hot days, and they help deter vandalism and keep surfaces clean.
Engine/Prop Covers:
Blade and Tail Rotor Tie-Downs slip over rotor tips and secure with ropes, straps, or bungee cords, while Rotor Hub Covers overlap Blade Covers for full main rotor protection. Medium-weight Solution-Dyed Polyester Blade Covers cinch at the root with quick-release buckles, with cold-weather versions offering full-length zippers and optional deice “boots.” Engine Covers enclose swash plates, inlets, exhausts, and access areas, tightening around the rotor mast and tailboom, while Insulated Engine Covers use 3M Thinsulate and soft nylon lining to retain heat and aid preheating. Tail Rotor Covers are one-piece designs enclosing both blades and hubs. Plugs and Protection:
Bell 212 Pitot Tube Covers (non-heat resistant) are made from durable Naugahyde vinyl and slip over the entire pitot assembly, securing at the base with a Velcro strap and including a “Remove Before Flight” streamer. Heat-resistant upgrades are available to prevent melting if the pitot heat is accidentally activated, and tethered sets can be requested. Engine Inlet Plugs are custom-fit for Bell 212 intakes, constructed from heavy-duty vinyl with sculpted urethane foam that can be removed via zipper for drying. Each plug includes a “Remove Before Flight” streamer and can be imprinted with the aircraft registration number for an additional charge. Commonly referred to as cowl plugs, intake plugs, cowl blocks, engine blocks, or engine bungs, the plugs can be installed even when the engine is warm, though a storage bag is not included.
Wing/Tail/Empennage Covers:
Tailboom Covers vary by model but generally enclose the tail boom from the “bottleneck” to the aft end, often extending over the horizontal stabilizers. They are custom-made to accommodate antennae, lights, and other protrusions, and attach securely with straps underneath the tail boom. Separate covers for vertical and horizontal stabilizers are also available, and model-specific details can be provided on request.
Heat Shields and Sun Reflectors:
Cockpit Heatshields are interior sunshades made from a composite of closed-cell foam with a reflective silver mylar finish, designed to reduce cockpit overheating. The semi-rigid material stands inside the window framing and includes darts and folds to conform to complex helicopter window shapes. Each set folds flat for easy storage in the included sleeve, and some designs use Velcro or suction cups for installation. While ideal for short-term heat reduction, external fabric covers provide better long-term protection.
Light Weight Travel Covers:
Forward Cabin/Nose Covers protect the front and side cockpit windows and extend forward to cover the nose, with sewn-in pockets for pitot tubes. Made from Silver Acrylic Sunbrella canvas and fully lined with soft microfiber, the covers are reflective, water-, ice-, and snow-repellent, and breathable to allow moisture to escape while helping reduce cabin interior temperatures to near-ambient levels. The Lightweight Travel Bubble Cover uses the same design but is made from Silver Solution-Dyed Polyester, fully lined and compact for easy storage. This travel material is water-resistant and ideal for occasional outdoor use, while ultra-lightweight versions are available for hangar dust protection, and the standard Sunbrella Cover is recommended for daily outdoor use.
