The Aviat (Christen) Husky Over-The-Top Canopy Cover is a one-piece design that encloses the windshield, side and rear windows, and extends over the cabin to cover the wing root fairings. Velcro closures behind the pilot and copilot doors allow access without removing the entire cover, while adjustable belly straps, side tightening straps, and a shock-cord hem ensure a snug fit. Extended versions reach down to the main wheel struts for full side coverage.
Made from Silver Acrylic Sunbrella canvas with a soft microfiber lining, the cover is water-, ice-, and snow-repellent yet breathable. The reflective fabric reduces cabin temperatures, and the lining protects paint and surfaces from scratches. Custom-sewn to match the airplane’s colors, registration numbers can be added for an extra charge. A duffle bag is included, and the cover is also commonly called a cabin cover, fuselage cover, or canvas cover.
Engine/Prop Covers:
Engine covers cinch around or behind the spinner, covering the entire engine cowl including air cooling and induction inlets, and fasten with Velcro beneath the spinner. A belly strap aft of the firewall secures the cover, which can also Velcro to the canopy cover. Standard covers are made from durable Solution-Dyed Polyester or Silver Acrylic Sunbrella, while insulated versions use quilted, water-repellent materials with 3M Thinsulate and soft nylon lining to retain heat and aid engine preheating. An access flap can be added for convenience.
For hangar use, the insulated engine hangar blanket provides cost-effective protection with a heating device, though it is not as form-fitting as the custom cover and does not include flaps. Propeller covers are a one-piece design that slips over the spinner and blades, secured with a plastic all-weather zipper. Suitable for wooden, composite, or metal props, they are lined with soft microfiber to prevent scratches. Insulated propeller covers use thicker, quilted, breathable materials for cold-weather protection. All covers are reflective, UV- and water-resistant, and allow moisture to escape, helping protect your aircraft and maintain near-ambient temperatures inside the cabin on hot days.
Plugs and Protection:
Pitot tube covers are made from Naugahyde vinyl to fully enclose the pitot assembly. The cover slips over the tube and secures at the base with a Velcro strap, and includes a "Remove Before Flight" streamer. Heat-resistant versions are available to prevent melting if the pitot heat is accidentally left on. Sets can be tethered together upon request.
Engine inlet plugs are custom-fit for Husky intakes, crafted from heavy-duty vinyl and filled with a single block of sculpted urethane foam. Zippered openings allow the foam to be removed for drying or cleaning. Bright warning flags or sewn-in "Remove Before Flight" streamers provide clear visual reminders, and registration numbers can be added for an extra charge. Plugs can be inserted even when the engine is warm and are also called cowl plugs, intake plugs, cowl blocks, engine blocks, or engine bungs. Storage bag not included.
Wing/Tail/Empennage Covers:
Custom-fit covers protect the wings, horizontal stabilizers, and empennage from sun, frost, snow, ice, and corrosion. Horizontal stabilizer covers slip over the upper surfaces and wrap around the leading and trailing edges, securing underneath with adjustable straps. Wing covers form-fit around each wing tip, fully covering the upper surface and edges, and can attach under the belly with adjustable straps. Cut-outs are included for static wicks, and modifications are available for STOL kits, droop tips, or vortex generators. Hail protection versions incorporate dense closed-cell foam for added impact resistance. Covers are labeled LEFT and RIGHT for easy installation.
The one-piece empennage cover extends over the elevators, rudder, and tailboom, cinching under the horizontal stabilizers while accommodating antennas, beacons, and static wicks. Winter-use fabrics are lighter and compact for seasonal protection, while all-year Silver Acrylic Sunbrella provides heavier, UV- and weather-resistant durability. Durable Solution-Dyed Polyester or Acrylic Sunbrella ensures long-lasting protection for all surfaces, helping preserve paint and prevent damage throughout the year.
Miscellaneous Products:
Tire and wheelpant covers shield the wheels, tires, and wheelpants from sun damage and protect against contact with the tow bar during aircraft movement. Made from Silver Acrylic Sunbrella canvas, the all-year use material is durable and weather-resistant, providing long-lasting protection against sun, rain, snow, and other elements.
Light Weight Travel Covers:
The Lightweight Travel Canopy Cover provides the same coverage as the standard canopy cover but uses very lightweight materials that fold compactly for easy storage. Ideal for aircraft stored full-time in a hangar and used only occasionally, it is made from Silver Solution-Dyed Polyester and lined over the windshield to save weight. The fabric is water-resistant but intended for short-term outdoor use. An ultra-lightweight option is also available for fitted hangar dust covers. For daily outdoor protection, the standard Sunbrella canopy cover remains the recommended choice.
The Windshield/Skylight Cover encloses the windshield and skylight areas, securing with belly straps and additional attachment points specific to each aircraft. Made from Silver Acrylic Sunbrella canvas and fully lined with soft microfiber, the cover combines water, ice, and snow repellency with UV protection and anti-static properties.
