Insulated versions feature a thicker, quilted, water-repellent composite with 3M Thinsulate and soft nylon lining to retain heat, support engine preheating in cold climates, and can include optional access flaps. The Mooney Ovation & Ovation Ultra Lightweight Travel Canopy Cover provides the same full coverage as the standard Canopy Cover but is made from very lightweight Silver Solution-Dyed Polyester for easy handling and compact storage. Lined only over the windshield to save weight, it is ideal for aircraft stored primarily in hangars and used outdoors only occasionally. The water-resistant polyester material is suitable for limited outdoor use, and an ultra-light version is available for indoor hangar dust protection. For daily outdoor exposure, the standard Sunbrella Canopy Cover remains the preferred option for long-term protection.
