Canopy/Cockpit/Fuselage Covers:
Canopy Covers for the Diamond DA-20, Katana, and Eclipse protect the aircraft’s interior by reducing heat damage to upholstery and avionics, preventing issues from leaking seals, keeping windows clean, and deterring vandalism or theft. Each cover is custom-designed for the specific model, including antenna and probe placements, and encloses the windshield, side windows, and canopy roof. The cover secures with adjustable belly straps and quick-release buckles, with shock cord in the hem for a tight fit. Made from Silver Acrylic Sunbrella canvas and fully lined with soft microfiber, these covers are water-, UV-, and ice-resistant, anti-static, breathable, and highly reflective—reducing cabin temperatures to near-ambient levels. Covers include a duffle bag, can be trimmed to match aircraft colors, and can feature an optional imprinted registration number.
Extended Canopy, Canopy/Engine, and Extended Canopy/Engine Covers are one-piece designs that combine canopy protection with full engine-cowl coverage, extending aft over all windows and, in some versions, down to the wing root for integration with wing and empennage covers. Like the standard Canopy Cover, they use the same Sunbrella/microfiber construction for maximum protection and scratch prevention. These extended designs provide a more complete enclosure for aircraft needing a full cover set or enhanced environmental protection while remaining breathable and durable for long-term use.
Engine/Prop Covers:
Engine Covers for the Diamond DA-20, Katana, and Eclipse are designed to cinch around or behind the spinner and fully protect the engine cowl, including cooling and induction inlets. They fasten with Velcro beneath the spinner and secure with a belly strap aft of the firewall, with the option to connect to a Canopy Cover. Standard Engine Covers are made from durable Solution-Dyed Polyester or Acrylic Sunbrella, while insulated versions use a composite of solution-dyed polyester, 3M Thinsulate, and soft nylon lining to retain heat and support engine preheating in cold climates. These insulated covers help reduce engine wear, and an access flap can be added. For indoor protection, an Insulated Hangar Blanket—available in red or black—offers a cost-effective way to preserve engine warmth inside a winter hangar when used with a heating device.
Propeller Covers are custom-fitted, one-piece designs that slip over the blades and spinner, fastening with a weather-resistant zipper along the bottom. They can be made for any number of blades and for wood, composite, or metal propellers. Standard prop covers use Acrylic Sunbrella or Solution-Dyed Polyester and are fully lined with soft microfiber to prevent scratching, while insulated versions use a quilted, water-repellent, breathable material ideal for cold-weather preheating support. All cover materials are engineered for aircraft protection, offering water, UV, ice, and snow resistance, anti-static treatment, high reflectivity, and breathability to prevent trapped moisture.
Plugs and Protection:
Diamond DA-20, Katana, and Eclipse Pitot Tube Covers, made from durable Naugahyde vinyl, slip over the entire pitot assembly and secure at the base with a Velcro strap. Each cover includes a “Remove Before Flight” streamer for safety, and heat-resistant versions are available to prevent melting if the pitot heat is accidentally activated. Tethered sets can also be requested for convenience.
Engine Inlet Plugs are custom-fit for your aircraft’s intakes and constructed from heavy-duty vinyl filled with a sculpted urethane foam block. Each plug includes a zipper for removing and drying the foam, and warning flags or “Remove Before Flight” streamers for cockpit visibility. Most plugs can be imprinted with the aircraft registration number for an additional charge. Also referred to as cowl plugs, intake plugs, cowl blocks, engine blocks, or engine bungs, these plugs may be installed shortly after flight while the engine is still warm. Storage bags are not included.
Wing/Tail/Empennage Covers:
Horizontal Stabilizer and Empennage Covers for the Diamond DA-20, Katana, and Eclipse protect your aircraft from sun damage, frost, snow, ice, and corrosion. They cover the entire upper surface of the stabilizers, overlapping the leading and trailing edges as well as wingtips, and secure underneath with adjustable straps. The one-piece Empennage Cover protects both vertical and horizontal stabilizers and the tailboom, incorporating all antennas, beacons, and static wicks into the design. Covers are available for all-year use or seasonal winter use, with all-year covers made from heavier Silver Acrylic Sunbrella for maximum durability and sun protection, while winter-use covers are lighter Solution-Dyed Polyester for deicing, rain mitigation, or occasional travel. Hail Protection versions are also available, incorporating dense closed-cell foam to protect against small to medium-size hail.
Wing Covers provide similar protection, forming a custom fit around each wingtip and the entire upper wing surface while wrapping the leading and trailing edges. They secure under the wing with adjustable straps and can connect to each other at the leading and trailing edges under the belly. Modifications for STOL kits, droop tips, and vortex generators can be accommodated, and covers are labeled LEFT and RIGHT for convenience. Available in all-year or winter-use materials, the all-year Sunbrella option is heavier and more durable for long-term outdoor use, while the Solution-Dyed Polyester winter option is lighter and more compact but best for occasional use. Hail Protection versions with dense foam are also available for additional impact resistance.
Light Weight Travel Covers:
The Lightweight Travel Canopy and Canopy/Engine Covers provide the same coverage as our standard covers but are made from very lightweight Silver Solution-Dyed Polyester, folding compactly for easy storage. Ideal for aircraft stored full-time in a hangar and only needing occasional protection, these covers are lined over the windshield to save weight and are water-resistant for limited outdoor use. An ultra-lightweight version is also available for fitted hangar dust covers, while the heavier Sunbrella Cover remains the best choice for daily outdoor exposure.
