Canopy/Cockpit/Fuselage Covers:
The Bell 205 Cockpit, Forward Cabin, and Forward Cabin/Nose Covers shield the windshield and side cockpit windows from heat, moisture, and debris while helping prevent interior fading, avionics damage, and issues from leaking seals. These covers also keep window surfaces clean and can deter vandalism and theft. Each includes non-metal Delrin buckles for outdoor durability, comes with a storage duffle, and can be customized with an imprinted tail number and color-matched trim.
All versions are made from Silver Acrylic Sunbrella canvas and fully lined with soft microfiber to prevent scratching. The reflective, medium-weight outer fabric is treated for UV, water, and anti-static resistance, while the breathable design allows trapped moisture to escape. Testing shows these covers can reduce interior temperatures to near-ambient levels on hot days. The Forward Cabin/Nose Cover also features sewn-in pockets to accommodate pitot tubes.
Engine/Prop Covers:
Rotor and engine protection products for the Bell 205 include Blade Tie-Downs, Blade Covers, Rotor Hub Covers, Engine Covers, and Tail Rotor Covers, all designed to secure and safeguard key components during storage or adverse weather. Blade Tie-Downs slip over the rotor tips and secure with ropes or straps, while Blade Covers—made from medium-weight Solution-Dyed Polyester—cinch at the blade root and can be installed from the ground. Cold Weather Blade Covers add full-length zippers and optional de-ice “boots” for use with preheater systems. Rotor Hub Covers overlap the blade covers for full system protection and fasten beneath each blade with Delrin buckles.
Engine Covers vary by model but typically enclose the swash plate, inlet, exhaust, and access areas, tightening around the rotor mast and tailboom bottleneck with secure straps. Insulated Engine Covers use Solution-Dyed Polyester, 3M Thinsulate, and soft nylon lining to retain heat in cold climates and support preheating. Tail Rotor Covers are a one-piece design that encloses both blades and their hub. All components are available in two material options: Silver Acrylic Sunbrella for year-round, high-UV, all-weather durability, and lighter Solution-Dyed Polyester for winter or occasional outdoor use.
Plugs and Protection:
Pitot Tube Covers are made from durable Naugahyde vinyl, designed to slip over the entire pitot assembly and secure at the base with a Velcro strap. Each includes a “Remove Before Flight” streamer, with heat-resistant upgrades and optional tethering available. Tail Rotor Tie-Downs use bungee-equipped socks to pull the rotor tips toward the hub for secure positioning.
Engine Inlet Plugs are custom-fit, built from heavy-duty vinyl with sculpted urethane foam inserts that can be removed via zipper for drying. Each plug includes a “Remove Before Flight” streamer and can be imprinted with the registration number for an additional charge. Plugs may be inserted while warm and are commonly referred to as cowl plugs, intake plugs, engine blocks, or engine bungs. Storage bag not included.
Wing/Tail/Empennage Covers:
Tailboom Covers generally enclose the tail boom from the “bottleneck” to the aft end and often include coverage for the horizontal stabilizers. They are custom-made to accommodate antennas, lights, and other protrusions, and secure with straps beneath the tail boom. Separate vertical and horizontal stabilizer covers are also available. Model-specific details are provided on request.
Heat Shields and Sun Reflectors:
Cockpit Heatshields are interior sunshades made from a composite of closed-cell foam with a reflective silver mylar finish. The semi-rigid design stands inside the window framing, with darts and folds that conform to complex window shapes. Each set folds flat for storage in the included sleeve, and some versions use Velcro or suction cups. These heatshields are ideal for short-term heat reduction, while external fabric covers provide better long-term protection.
Light Weight Travel Covers:
The Cockpit Travel Cover protects the cabin from heat, leaking seals, dirt, and theft. It fits over the windshield and side windows, uses durable Delrin buckles, includes a duffle bag, and can be customized with a tail number.
All cover options use Silver Acrylic Sunbrella with a full microfiber lining—water- and UV-resistant, reflective, breathable, and gentle on surfaces. This material keeps interior temps near ambient on hot days.
The Forward Cabin Cover shields only the front and side cockpit windows, while the Forward Cabin/Nose Cover extends forward and includes pitot-tube pockets.
